The stratovolcano Elbrus is the highest point of the Caucasus and the highest mountain in Europe. The Grand array consists of two towers — East (5621 m) and West (5642 m). Between them is a giant snow-ice plateau. However, in addition to the height of Elbrus is known for its amazingly beautiful surroundings.
There are many routes to Elbrus West, the most interesting and worthy of which is the “Elbrus cross”. The meaning of the route is to go from the North side of Elbrus to the South through the plateau with a call to both peaks of the mountain giant. The ascent of West Elbrus is still an achievement for climbers, and the ascent of both peaks of Elbrus — East and West-an undeniable achievement.
